According to the Webster Unabridged Dictionary the term Liberal is defined as-

Slayer of the False Pretentions of Corporate Fat Cats who make their living lying, cheating and stealing from normal people
Advocate for Civil Rights, Labor Union Rights, Reproductive Health Rights and any other Right not endorsed by the Conservative Right Wing Religionists or Political Operatives
We stand up for those shared values, shared hopes and shared dreams that represent the best of America—We defend the common man from the moneyed interests, Go to War with the Reactionary Fascists in the Tea Party Movement and insist that YOUR voice be heard in the public forums of American Politics and Government.
We believe that it is nobody’s business who you date, sleep with, marry or cavort with but yours…
We believe that if you think that Corporate Profits trump the needs of poor families to eat, work and have adequate medial care—then you are not an American
We believe that wars should only be fought when all other options have been exhausted—and then tried a second time—because nobody’s son or daughter should fight or die for wars of choice for oil, commerce or empire
We believe, in short, in the American Dream as Truly propounded by the founders—that American dream found in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, The Bill of Rights and as vetted publically over 200 Plus years in the realization of that dream—And we give voice to those fellow travelers who would have us return to the Pre-Ronald Reagan America where workers had rights, minorities had protection and Republicans were ashamed to show their face due to the righteous public ridicule that their flawed policies engendered.
